Contrôle technique gratuit pour votre vélo
À l’occasion de la semaine européenne de la mobilité, du 16 au 22 septembre, vous pouvez faire contrôler gratuitement votre vélo. Si vous êtes intéressé, envoyez un email à OIB-VELOS-DE-SERVICE (site intranet), en indiquant comme objet “contrôle technique” ainsi qu’un numéro de téléphone où il est possible de vous joindre. Inscriptions limitées, les premiers inscrits seront les premiers servis.
Quand et où ? De 10H à 13H et de 13H30 à 16H30, dans les bâtiments suivants :
- 16 septembre : Madou, sur l’esplanade, à l’entrée du bâtiment
- 17 septembre : Berlaymont, sur l’esplanade, à l’entrée du bâtiment
- 18 septembre : Luxembourg 46, parking -2 (entrée rue d’Arlon 56), près des vélos de service
- 19 septembre : Genève 6, parking -1, près des vélos de service
- 22 septembre : Beaulieu 5, parking -1, près des vélos de service

Tours guidés à vélo (1)
EUCG in association with GRACQ are pleased to invite you and your bicycle on a one-hour guided bike tour around the European quarter.
In the company of traffic-hardened cyclists you will get first hand experience of how to get around Brussels safely on two wheels.
There will be three tours, on Monday 15th, Thursday 18th and Friday 19th September, each starting at 12.30pm, starting and finishing at Jardin de Maelbeek at the junction of rue Joseph II and rue du Taciturne.

Vous aurez aussi la possibilité de tester un vélo électrique. Un guide chevronné vous enseignera les rudiments de la conduite à vélo dans Bruxelles. Si vous êtes intéressé, envoyez un email à OIB VELOS DE SERVICE, en indiquant comme objet “promenade à vélo”. Inscriptions limitées, les premiers inscrits seront les premiers servis.

Petit-déjeuner offert par l’OIB aux participants des balades guidées à vélo
Dans le prolongement de la semaine de la mobilité, l’OIB offre un petit-déjeuner aux personnes ayant participé aux tours guidés à vélo. Les participants pourront rencontrer les collègues de la Mobilité et leur faire part de leur avis. Si vous êtes intéressé, inscrivez-vous par email à OIB VELOS DE SERVICE en indiquant comme objet “petit-déjeuner”.

For the mobility week we had a presentation of electrical bikes and foldable ones. Nice, but it could be enhanced to reach more than a dozen people at noon once per year.
Perhaps a point could also be added to bike security. At summits and VIP meetings the security perimeter around Schuman is often ‘cleaned’ and all bike parking’s closed. Even outside the security perimeter hundreds (!) of bikes have been removed by the Police without clear warning. At best you’ll find a paper that they did remove your bike but you’ll lose hours, will have to go the police station, go through the administrative hassle and pay for a new expensive lock.
Security reasons are understandable to a certain level but cyclists shouldn’t be treated with disdain by not warning for bike removal, letting them pay for the Police’s mistakes and providing no alternative. As the Institutions are often at the origin of the demand for security perimeters we should lobby for a cyclist friendly approach of the Police assuming the costs of their miscommunication.
Admittedly it’s a typical example of how cyclists are treated with little respect in Brussels, let alone fostered, despite grand declarations.
