- Membership is open to anyone who works for one of the EU institutions who cycle to work, or want more cycling, or think cycling is a good idea, or want to support one of our other goals.
- Membership is free, and all members receive the EUCG newsletter.
- Most members joined because a colleague told about EUCG. And some members joined after participating to one of our training courses, events, or campaigns.
To join
Send an email to EUCG.membership@gmail.com. Say cycling is awesome and you would like to join.
Andras, who maintains the membership admin, and loves cycling, (or one of our colleagues if he is biking and can’t respond), will welcome you soon!
–
Why should I join?
- It’s encouraging and fun to meet colleagues who like cycling as a mode of transport, and the group will take up your ideas to improve conditions for cycling in the institutions.
- You get the prestigious EUCG newsletter to keep you up to date with information of interest about cycling in the institutions, this is sent a couple of times a year.
- By joining the group, you increase our influence. Your help can make daily cycling a mainstream activity for more and more of our colleagues.
Choose Youre Level of involvement:
You can choose whether you:
a) observe things from a safe corner and be supportive through your membership, or
b) be active, and involved and show up in the multitude of ongoing events/projects, and
c) lead one of the projects or initiatives,
And if you are the type of person with the ultimate cycling bug itching all the time, volunteer to be part of the coolest gang of all time, the EUCG board!
How to contribute to EUCG as a member?
- Advocacy: help raise awareness about the benefits of cycling, air quality, and safe cycling conditions in your personal and professional network. Share information on social media, attend events, and promote our work. And we are always looking for people to contribute articles, news, and photos to the newsletter, website, and our official/legal communications.
- Expertise: all your specialised and general skills are welcome here. We need help shaping policy, negotiating with senior managers in the EU institutions, engaging with, developing plans, support campaigns.
- Pro bono services: if you have professional skills that align with the EUCG’s mission, consider offering your services. This can be:
- legal advice,
- accounting,
- graphic design,
- website admin,
- marketing,
- bike repair for members,
- facilitation of events (participatory leadership, organisation development consultancy),
- proofreading,
- photography,
- others.
- Volunteer recruitment: help us motivate members to take part of ongoing actions and start new projects.
- Financial support: help to pay for a domain, website, event materials, and promotional materials. This is always on a project/task basis, as we don’t maintain a budget.
- In-kind donation: office supplies, equipment, materials for projects.
If you are willing to contribute with any of the above, just mention it when you subscribe, and you will get an enthusiastic response!
